RP: When Twins Collide

Taking a later lunch than everyone else on the day-shift was the beauty of having some downtime, Nate mused. The choice of spots was a richer harvest, and he happily carried his tray to his favourite place by the railing that overlooked the pier. The fresh air was nice and the view was incredible; both worked to mitigate the mediocrity of the food that was served. Nate didn't mind. He loved being stationed here on Atlantis and with both his brother and his best friend off on missions with their respective teams, today also afforded him a nice modicum of peace and quiet.

Not that he minded the company of Tim and Jake, but he was very much his father's son when it came to being a bit of an introvert. He wasn't even through taking his first mouthful of food when his mind drifted to his plans of taking his book down to the northwest pier for the rest of the afternoon.

He offered her a genuine smile as she stood. He resisted the urge to stand, as well, reminding himself that it was no longer a required courtesy to do so when a woman left a table. He had to stop watching those damned movies.

"Anytime," he replied. He grinned. "See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow, Lieutenant." Asha waved slightly at him before taking her tray back and leaving the mess hall with a small happy smile on her face.

He waved back, watching until she left. Once she was gone, he realized that he wasn't hungry anymore and decided to simply call lunch over. He had a book to read and a girl to think about.
